Simply for the Soul - Meditative Creative Journey with Water ColourTeaching water colour painting is one of my absolute passions and when we connect this creative expression to our Life Journey something magical happens. This workshop is beyond a "how-to make a pretty picture". Take a leap into your creative potential as we open that pathway through playing with water colour. Step into the expanded version of your self. What we will need to create:

Look at how we have been playing with our strelitzia paintings
Day One
|
The painting below was interesting because the paper had a poor finish around the edges and it seemed to suggest a frame which was loosely placed into the painting. It is always fun to mix up the positive and negative in a painting and this one shows this idea. |
Spring is calling me and in anticipation for the delight of newness, the next two months we are going to be learning how to paint a variety of flowers and garden scenes.
This is going to make your painting experiences just pop!
You can easily do this ...
Then this ...
If you would like to join the group for August and September - this theme will continue for 2 months as we explore simple and beautiful ways to portray flowers.
... and then you can do this ....
And eventually this ...
More and more playing ....
We did it! Thank you dear Ones for a fab month of daisy happiness
Water Colour Workshop: Module 5 Now you choose! July 2016 is the month you get to be the boss! Bring the resource image or idea you wish to paint in water colour and you will be guided in possible approaches and techniques in achieving a unique painting. |
Utter madness! Let's see how this works... you bring an idea or reference image and together we will explore ways for you to turn it into a water colour painting that is unique and exciting. This is going to stretch us all as we will have many glances at ways to accomplish different themes. Just 6 places and four sessions. Please let me know what your reference is before your place can be confirmed. (I will need to know that it is a subject that I can guide you to accomplish). | WORKSHOP DATES FOR JULY 2016 Monday 4th Monday 11th Monday 18th Monday 25th Plettenberg Bay is the venue Starting at 9:15 and ending 12:30 |
Take a look at what we are doing this month ...
| Painting poppies is great fun. Inspiring colours that leap into our heart with fabulous contrasts to make them pop and zing. Module 4 is starting in June 2016
Cadmium yellow, cadmium orange and cadmium red, cobalt blue, indigo, prussian blue and hookers green. 300 gram A3 size best quality paper you can manage - at least two sheets 300 gram cartridge paper drawing pad also A3 size or a bit smaller is also fine |
Day One - Painting Poppies
Day Two - Painting Poppies
Day Two we ventured onto our water colour paper and did the magic of pouring and banging happen so that we could create serendipitous flow.
This is Kathy's first water colour attempt and she handled it like a seasoned artist.
Such great painting from this group and lots of fun.
Watch this space as the poppies emerge from their early beginnings.
We missed Shelby and June this lesson - no matter we will catch up quickly.
Just a hop skip and jump and we are nearly done with our beautiful poppies for this module. Look how far we have gone.
Thank you Carol Levin for this bunch of poppies
Watch as the artists play for the next four weeks as we enjoy the flow and serendipity of water colour.
Let's see the end products first and then scroll down and see how each artist developed their painting.
My photo of Tony and June came out blurry so sorry they are not shown this time.
The best thing to do with this is to work with the paper and paint almost like one would with acrylics - painting on bold shapes and colour. I think this will still be a great painting and it will be fun to see how it evolves.
